I just returned from a three week trip to South Africa.  Let me take you to South Africa and I can show you hundreds of thousands of acres of fertile land that is not being used.

This story is not about people "not having a place to stay" or "not having a piece of land to farm."

This story is really about settlers, that in some cases hundreds of years ago, moved to a portion of South Africa that has never been inhabited.

Upon settling, they dug water wells and developed the farming potential of this new land.  Now, years later someone else wants to take away this property from the rightful owner and at most they only want to spend the cost of a bullet or a piece of pipe in order to gain access to this developed land. While I was in South Africa a 73 year old farmers wife was beat to death with a piece of pipe just a few miles from where I was staying. I have seen several pictures of farm attacks and killings in South Africa.

From the brutality of these pictures, it is clear to me that the attacks and killings in South Africa are more than just simply robbery or murders.  If you want to see a few of these let me know and I will forward the pictures to you. Instead of "redistributing" farms in some trumped up "land reform" package that simply takes away property from those that have invested in South Africa by developing land through the years, and giving it to others that have not, the government there would be better off helping the local people develop land for farming purposes.

They should start this process by drilling water wells. Take a hard look at Zimbabwe, once the bread basket of Africa.  Now, they can't even feed themselves.

If the farm attacks and killings don't stop in South Africa, South Africa will turn into another Zimbabwe.
